About Us

AgresteChile is a Chilean travel company based in Lonquimay, Araucanía Andina, Chile, specializing in cultural and adventure experiences in natural settings. We were founded on the conviction that tourism can be a tool for positive impact and a viable alternative for those seeking purposeful travel. We design and organize high-quality trips that connect people with nature and local culture, while creating opportunities for local tourism entrepreneurs and supporting environmental conservation initiatives. We believe in active, responsible, and transformative tourism, capable of strengthening communities and protecting the landscapes that inspire us.

Our Story

We are a couple united by our love of the outdoors. We arrived as tourists and fell in love with Lonquimay, its people, and its surroundings. We returned to make Lonquimay our home, so we could share with other travelers the same experiences that so profoundly impacted us.
We organize personalized experiences, rooted in local identity, with maximum exposure to nature, the cultures of our region, and the mountain life of the Andean Araucanía.

We are passionate about sustainability and living with the smallest possible footprint. The AgresteChile base camp operates using sustainable and self-sufficient systems.

Our trips are designed with sustainability in mind, which is why our travel groups are small, facilitating a reduced carbon footprint, less impact on the ecosystems we visit, and promoting responsible tourism through slow travel.
